Origami Heart with Tie
This is a cute origami heart with tie. It does require a few squash folds which beginners may find a bit more challenging. This is a fun one to try with different patterned and double-sided paper.

Origami Heart with Tie Step 1: Start with a regular 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square origami paper color side down.
Fold paper in half on both diagonal axis. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 2: Flip paper over. Fold both the top and bottom tips to the center. Crease well.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 3: Now fold the top only over to the center again. Crease well.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 4: Unfold paper.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 5: Make a diagonal fold as indicated, folding A-B to A-C. Crease well.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 6: Now fold C-D to C-A. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 7: Make the short vertical fold for the top layer only and bring the right side top layer over to the left. Make the squash fold by pressing paper flat.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 8: Make a diagonal fold for the small triangle shape top layer. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 9: Now pry open that top layer small triangle.
Bring it to the center and make the squash fold by pressing paper flat to form a diamond shape.
Your paper should now look like this.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 10: The hard part's done! It's pretty straight forward from here onwards.
Flip paper over. Make the valley fold as shown.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 11: One more valley fold, please.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 12: Flip paper over. Fold both sides to the center. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 13: Now refold Step 12 and this time, we're going to tuck the paper under the "tie".
Origami Heart with Tie Step 14: Flip paper over.
Fold down the tips, just enough so that we can tuck the tips into the "pocket".
Origami Heart with Tie Step 15: Make 2 small vertical folds to shape the heart.
Origami Heart with Tie Step 16: Flip paper over. Make 2 diagonal folds to compete the origami.
And your origami heart with tie is complete!
