Origami Covered Sampan
I just folded this for the first time a few days ago. It is similar to the origami sampan I folded as a kid but this sampan is covered/sheltered on both ends. We really like it!

Origami Covered Sampan Step 1: Start with a 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square origami paper, color side down.
Fold paper in half on both the horizontal and vertical diagonal axis. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 2: Fold the right and left tips to the center. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 3: Fold the right and left tips to the first vertical crease on its side. Crease well.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 4: Now fold both sides over the existing creases.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 5: Flip paper over.
Fold the top and bottom tips to the center. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 6: Fold the top and bottom tips to the creases made in Step 5.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 7: Now fold the top and bottom over the existing creases.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 8: Fold both the top and bottom halves to the center.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 9: Make the 4 diagonal folds as shown.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 10: Make the 2 diagonal folds on the bottom half of the paper.
You can fold the right side first and the left. The folds will overlap and that's fine.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 11: Fold the bottom tip to the center.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 12: Repeat Steps 10 and 11 on the top half of the paper.
When completed, your paper should now be symmetrical and looks like this.
Origami Covered Sampan Step 13: We're going to rotate the paper so you can see better....
Pry open the white upper layer in the center...
Origami Covered Sampan Step 14: Flip paper over.
Now we're going to turn the paper inside out...
The easier way is to push down on the center of the paper first. When you push down the center, the sides should turn over. Look at the photos below.
Press the center flat and work your way to both ends. Flatten the white part of the paper.
And your origami covered sampan is complete!
