Origami Mushroom Step 1: Start with a 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square origami paper color side down.
Origami Mushroom Step 2: Make 2 folds, one along each diagonal axis. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Mushroom Step 3: Fold 3 sides to meet at the center, starting with the right tip, then the top, then the left.
Origami Mushroom Step 4: Fold the top half of the paper over the center crease.
Origami Mushroom Step 5: Flip paper over.
Origami Mushroom Step 6: Fold the left and right sides to meet the center crease. Make sure to crease well.
Origami Mushroom Step 7: Here comes the slightly tricky part to the origami mushroom....but don't worry, it's nothing we can't handle! Hopefully, the pictures below will show you clearly how to do this step.
First, open up the right flap. See the crease you just made in Step 6 as indicated by the 2 arrows below?
Well, we're going to fold that crease over to the center.
Origami Mushroom Step 8: We need to fold the tip of the paper down to meet the center crease. I'll try to explain it but the pictures probably speak for themselves better than I can.
To do so, there needs to be an additional crease made. This crease should line up with the inside section of the paper. Make the crease then fold the top down to meet the center as shown in the pictures below.
Origami Mushroom Step 9: We love symmetry in origami so you know the next step right? Yes, repeat Step 7 and 8 for the left side!
Open the left flap, make the additional crease to line up with the inside section of the paper, then fold the top down to meet the center.
Origami Mushroom Step 10: Fold the bottom tip to meet point A as indicated in the picture below.
Origami Mushroom Step 11: Fold the top to meet point B, as indicated in the photo below.
Origami Mushroom Step 12: Flip paper over. Your origami mushroom is complete! Ready to be chopped up and used in some stir-fry!
